Title: Neutrinos and supernovae: Recent developments and new challenges

Abstract: Despite their extremely weak interactions, neutrinos are crucial to the dynamics of the most spectacular events in our galaxy: The deaths of massive stars in violent supernova explosions. Carrying information from the heart of the explosion, neutrinos are the only direct probe of the dynamics and thermodynamics at the center of the star. Nonetheless, the supernova mechanism and the role of neutrinos in it are still full of mysteries. I'll review intriguing recent developments on the role of neutrinos in the supernova hydrodynamics, our current understanding of flavor conversions in the stellar envelope as well as detection perspectives of the next burst.
