Ante Bilandzic - New Post Doc at the Discovery Center

Ante Bilandzic has just finished his PhD from the National Institute of Subatomic Physics in Amsterdam andstarted as a post doc at the Discovery Center on February 1, 2012. His work can be described as follows:

"In heavy-ion collisions at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) a new state of matter is being produced which does not exist at ordinary conditions. It is believed that such a state of matter, so-called quark-gluon plasma (QGP), existed in the early Universe, just few microseconds after the Big Bang. Anisotropic flow harmonics are observables which are sensitive to QGP properties, and a newly developed method for their measurement, so-called Q-cumulants, is being utilized in this analysis. Forward Multiplicity Detector (FMD) is used to extend the measurements of anisotropic flow harmonics at very large backward and forward rapidities."
