Title: Measurement of Drell-Yan lepton pairs in p+pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76TeV with ATLAS

Abstract: In 2010, a new program for heavy ion physics started at the LHC. This program has included Pb+Pb collisions, which made it possible to study the Quark Gluon Plasma - the hot and dense state of matter emerging from colliding heavier nuclei. In addition to the Quark Gluon Plasma, collisions between heavier nuclei are also affected by nuclear effects, such as shadowing and antishadowing, and by the geometry of the collisions.  To decouple these effects from the Quark Gluon Plasma, p+Pb collisions  are also included in the program of heavy ion physics.

 This defense describes the measurement of Z bosons produced in p+Pb collisions at √sNN =5.02 TeV using the ATLAS detector at the LHC.  The measurement of Z bosons, which is done via the muonic decay channel, is performed for different centralities and the distribution of the yield is discussed, taken geometric and nuclear effects into account. In addition, the differential Z->mumu cross-section is determined.
