Master Thesis Defence by Mizio Spatafora Andersen

Title: Computation of Amplitudes using New Techniques

Abstract: This thesis is concerned with computation of amplitudes at tree-level. More particularly it is a goal to apply already established computational techniques like Britto-Cachazo-Feng-Witten recursion relations that connect n-point amplitudes to a product of less than $n$-point amplitudes and the Kawai-Lewellen-Tye relations that establishes a connection between amplitudes of gravity to those of gauge theory at tree-level. These mentioned techniques are good examples of tools that effectively compute amplitudes which previously relied on heavy calculations using Feynman rules. An aim of the thesis will also be to implement these techniques numerically using Mathematica in order to realize and interpret gluonic amplitudes expressed in terms of purely fermionic amplitudes at tree-level.
